If you live in a newer commercial building like an apartment or condo with metal studs, the process is the same simply use 1⅝-inch (fine thread) drywall screws instead of wood screws.Īlign your furniture with the bracket on the wall. We recommend using a wood screw that’s at least 2 inches long to ensure a strong connection. Next, install the wall-mounted portion of the anchor. From this point measure vertically, according to the installation instructions, to determine the correct location for the wall bracket. Once you’ve located a stud that aligns with the back of your furniture, mark the wall along the stud with a pencil and place an intersecting mark on the wall that indicates the height of the furniture. In modern construction, they’re usually spaced 16 inches apart, and you should find one to the left or right of an electrical outlet or light switch. Use a stud finder to locate studs in the wall. If this describes your home, start by placing the furniture against the wall where you’d like it installed. If none of the screws fit and you don’t have any screws that came with the TV (or you no longer have the legs that came with the TV), we’d recommend you search your TV model number either on Amazon or from the manufacturer and buy the suggested screws according to the manufacturer's instructions. Most homes built after the 1960s have interior walls made of drywall over wood studs. The spacers will fill the gap between the screws and the TV.ģ. In that case, you would use the white spacers we provide in the box. It could be the case that some of our screws are able to be screwed in, but there’s extra space left between the screw and the hook. They do that because the same screws that fit the legs are the ones for the back.Ģ. No wall mount you purchase will ever provide the exact screws for all the TV’s made in the world, because some brands or models require their own unique screws. Like, for example, all ROKU TVs or TCL’s. In most cases, those same screws fit the back of the TV as well. So, if your TV has leg stands, the TV will come with screws that fit those stands. Some TVs use the same screws that fit your TV leg stands to be used for the back of the TV. ![]() In that case, we would suggest a few things:ġ. We actually offer more screws in the kit than any other mount, but… there are some TV’s that don’t follow the VESA screws sizes and require you to use their own screws for their own reasons. The screws that we provide are universal VESA standard screws. I’ve already recommended this to several friends, and will continue to do so! ![]() It helped that I used the spacers that were provided, just so that there was extra space to see the hooks better. The only assistance I needed was from my husband when it came time to lift the tv onto the hanger. It took me less than a half hour, (I am very precise when it comes to leveling, and straightness, etc.) and I was able to hang my 65” TV without any issues whatsoever. I emailed customer service with my issue, and honestly, I think it took the Hang Smart company 5 minutes to reply, apologize, and send another set out to me that day.īut what made me even happier, is when I actually installed the first Hang Smart. I bought them for a rental townhome that I was moving into, and hadn’t opened the package until the actual move. I seriously cannot say enough good things about this product, as well as the company! I ordered the bundle of two, and did not realize it until after having it for a couple of weeks that only one was delivered. For anyone on the fence about buying this product because you’re worried if it works, I can tell you I was that person at first too. The level it comes with that you stick to the paper on the wall makes it more difficult because the level is a little heavy so the paper sags a bit. My only advice to anyone using these for the first time is to use your own large level. The second TV I hung up took half the time and they both look great. But I attribute that to me being a perfectionist and not wanting to screw it up. It took me a little longer than I expected the first time doing it. What I can tell you is that these mounts are the real deal. I have shown these mounts to several people before and after I finally made my purchase and they all shared my initial skepticism. Right away I thought it was incredible idea, but like most people, I was a little skeptical if it could really hold big flatscreen TV’s with just nails in drywall. So I first saw videos on social media about this new version of the TV wall mount. ![]()
